1st Christmas

This year we had two 1st with Christmas, of course it was Kaden's but also we did Christmas on our own and it turned out great!!! I have to admit that it was great to have the web cam so it felt like we were all together for a bit but it runs in the family that when we're hungry we must eat and that was the case for Kaden while we watched. LOL
Christmas Eve we went and spent the day with Bryann and her family and had a blast!!! The kids hadn't seen Kaden since his hair cut and he can stand so they thought that was great and Kaden didn't mind the attention. Tayson and Kaden had a good time together chatting a bit and sharing a few smiles. I was surprised how soft Kaden was. Tayson is sure growing fast!!!
Dinner was soooooo good, Steak, shrimp, mashed potatoes ( I added a little extra love but they were still good) and all the trimmings. Big Hit.
As tradition stands the kids were able to open one present Christmas Eve, pjs from Aunt Sandy, and they looked so cute. All the boys matched and then the girls matched. We talked to Mom and Dad on the web cam, Kaden's favorite, which was a ton of fun too.
Kaden opened his gifts from Bryann, Eric, and the kids then we headed home with a very tired little boy.
Christmas started at about 6:30am but not with Kaden getting up.... no it was Aaron. Figures that this would be the day that the weeks routine would kick in. (wink) Kaden got up about 7:00am and we got on the web cam with the family. He had a hard time paying attention to his gifts because he wanted to talk and soon was ready to eat so we signed off and had a quick bowl of cereal. He opened the gifts from Mom and Dad, but we were surprised that he wasn't more into the paper. After that we turned on the cartoons and put together his toys and he was happy as can be.
When he went down for his nap I made a real Christmas breakfast; pancakes, eggs, and ham!!! I was so proud of myself and is was soooo good. Kinda funny after we got everything cleaned up it felt like any other day but Kaden had older toys and it was a blast to watch him play.
Brooks called Mom and Dad and they called me, it worked out that the place where Brooks is staying has Skype!!! I was so excited because Kaden and Brooks were able to see each other for the 1st time, loved it. Kaden was a goof and gave him some great smiles which was perfect.
Christmas was wonderful and we're looking forward to the New Year

Great Get Away

We took our first family vacation and combined that with Kaden's first airplane ride and had a great time. Perfect timing to take a trip to see Mom and Dad leaving the cold snowy weather for no snow and jacket weather!!! he wanted Mom's earings but her hair was in the way so he would try to move it. Goof ballI was worried about how the flight would be but Kaden was a champ, the first flight was quick and pain free. When we touched down from the second it was 2 hours past his bed time and he was ready to be done. He got upset but the other passengers were really nice and said they know just how he felt. Once he saw he had their attention he calmed down and waved to everyone as we got off the plane. Walking through the airports he would wave and say "hi" to whoever was around, got quite a few smiles. We had 9 days of shopping and family, Kaden loved having all the space at Mom and Dads to explore and learned many new tricks. Dad was so kind as to teach him to shake his head so now when we make the smallest motions he starts shaking away, LOL. He also learned to crawl on his knees chasing after a ball Mom was playing with him.

He still army crawls for the most part but when he had just his diaper on and went into the kitchen with the tile he was up on all 4 trying to keep his stomach off the cold floor until he hit the carpet and back to the army style.

We took a trip to Old Town and couldn't get enough of being outside and breathing in the fresh air without or noise freezing. (wink)

Kaden got his hair cut.... Before.....
he was such a help putting up the Christmas decorations...he wasn't sure just what he thought of them.Durling, he sat so good thanks to Mom for keeping his attention. And After..... We also got his picture with Santa and he did so good, no tears.
I can't believe how much older he looks with his hair cut and his new found independence.Found him standing in bed bouncing when he was suppose to be taking a nap, this new step keeps us laughing and amazed at what he is able to do. Can't believe how fast he is growing.
Watch for more pictures to follow but I must admit this is not a bad start.

Fun Weekend

These are a few pictures from Saturday morning and the kids waiting for Tayson to be born and into that afternoon....

Kambrie also kept herself busy taking care of Kaden...

Happy Halloween.. A Little Late

So we were with Bryann and her family for Halloween and had a blast!!! Kaden looked so cute as a puppy, Bryann put some pink on his nose and "dots" on his cheeks as the kids called them and he looked like a million bucks!!! Kalista had an orange wig that Kaden was not a fan of but did really good with Keaton's mask until we went to the college then it got to him. Friday we went to the kids Halloween parade at their schools which was cute but cold. Kambrie and Kaden looked all warm bundled up in their blankets tucked into their strollers!!!

We found out that there was some trick-or-treating around town so we got the kids all ready and off we went. They made out really good,Kaden included which I don't hate (lol)

Our gang consisted of Tinkerbell, a Pumpkin Go-Go Girl, a Wearwolf, and a Puppy...

He sure makes me smile, he was so good all day in and out of the car and sitting in the stoller while we went around. It was funny watching him watch all the different costumes and all the people.

6 month update

Guess the best of intentions don't keep a blog updated so I'll have to start doing it. (grin) I can't believe that it is already the end of September and Kaden is almost 7 months!!! He is growing so fast, today at the doctors he weighed at 19.2 lbs and is 27 3/4 inches, that puts him in the 75% for height and 61% for weight. His smile melts my heart and those blue eyes get more amazing every day.
Although he is not crawling yet he manages to get himself from point A to wherever he wants to Be. He's become very proficient in turning himself in circles to play with the toys all around him which is very entertaining and amazing to watch him develop and learn how to get around. Sunday he was playing on the floor next to Aaron and managed to scoot himself under Aarons legs and next to him on the other side!
Even though he hasn't met his Uncle Buddy they share many traits... that high pitch screech and squeal is mellowing out for the most part but is still very much a part of his communication. There is a good possibility that he'll be left handed, and when he doesn't smile they share the same "look". He's babbling, mama and baba are starting to make their way out. Aaron tries dada and gets laughs so we'll see how that one works out.
Yesterday we took him in to get his 6 month pictures. Oh my gosh he looked sooooo cute!!! His hair has curl to it and between his blue shirt bringing out his already beautiful eyes his little brown shoes topped it off. (Not that I'm partial or anything) We got a family picture done which was weird to see, only grown ups get those and I don't think we qualify yet.
Last week Kaden had his first friend over, it was so fun watching them interact. The little boy is about 10 months so Kaden watched him crawl around and they'd pull on each others long sleeves then reach for a hand. Every week we get together with the ladies from the ward and their kids for a play date but one on one they were sure cute.
We found tooth number 5 last night! So far the two bottom are in, the top middle on the left side, and the two right next to the middle teeth are in. Hope that other middle tooth comes in soon so he's not lopsided for long but what can ya do?
Aaron and I are loving watching Kaden grow and are amazed with the changes that come from day to day.
He's loving the solids, his favorite are squash and bananas and doesn't like peas(how does that work) carrots and peaches. He loves to drink water from his cup and is taking his bottle like a pro. Still working on having him hold it all his own, which he can just chooses not to when he finds his hands.
The little man is waking up from his nap so I'll be posting pictures and a few more stories later.

2 1/2 Weeks

Kaden had his second check up today and everything is looking great. He now weighs 8lb 6oz and is in the 27/28 percentile for weight and height! We had to laugh because his cheeks are looking a bit more full but I guess thats what happens when you eat every two hours (wink)
The first visit he didn't mind being stripped down to be weighed but today he was not so happy about it. Thank heavens for pacifiers!!! Next visit is the two months and shots so Aaron is the man for the job but we've got a bit before we have to think about that one.
Tomorrow Kaden and I are going to go stay with Mom and Dad and Aaron will come Friday after work. This will give Aaron time to get caught up, not to mention good, sleep and get me out of the house without being alone. Kaden might get a little extra love too....

Drum Roll.....

Kaden Aaron Pease was born March 3rd at 4:36pm, he weighted 6lb 15oz and was 20 1/2 inches. Since he was a little over due (by a week) this was the day scheduled for the induction. It’s a weird feeling waking up in the morning knowing that by the end of the day you'll be holding your son, both very exciting and very scary!!! We called the labor and delivery at 6:00am and they said to come in at 7:30am. Last minute packing took a little longer then I thought it would so that’s when we ended up leaving the house and got to the hospital at 7:45ish. All the nurses were very excited we were the first ones in because we got the nicest room and it was big. We were all set in the room and hooked up to all the monitors and IV's by 8:00am and that’s when the fun started.
Mom and Dad came about 9:00am which was really nice for both Aaron and I. It gave us someone to talk to and more to laugh about. It didn't take too long for the potosen to kick in and we were in business. My nurse said that "nature was on our side" and things should move quickly. Within an hour they had broken my water and the contractions were to intense with the potosen so they shut that down and let my body take over. The only problem is that my body wasn't ready so contracts stopped. For the next 5 hours it was a guessing game trying to get the right amount of potosen for strong steady contractions but not to strong because they were putting stress on Kaden. To give a little perspective, one has to be at a level 15 with the medicine to reach the right strength to be able to deliver and the highest I was able to go was a 5 and that was right when we arrived, after an hour 3 was the max and even then his heart rate would drop after a strong contraction.
About 3 hours into it our doctor said that a c-section might be our only option but she wanted to give me a little more time to see if Kaden and I could work it out. That was not the case so we agreed there wasn't any more reason to stress Kaden and the nurses took right over. The next thing I know I'm being wheeled down the hall and Aaron's following a few steps behind. It only took about 45 min from start to finish and Aaron watch when they pulled him out. He came out screaming and beautiful!!! Dark hair and wide awake which hasn't changed a whole lot.
They gave me a spinal block which was nice for the surgery but after I'm not a big fan. The feeling of not being able to move from the chest down is a little scary. Recover both in the hospital and home has been good and I'm feeling not to shabby. It’s a little hard to feel good but not able to do a whole lot, that’s not really my style.
When we first got home we slept in the front room because the couch was easier to get on and off and Kaden slept with me, Aaron on the front room floor. Kaden slept 4 hours at a time for almost two weeks and just a few nights ago started getting up every 2. He eats and goes right back to sleep which is nice.
He loves the bouncer and the swing and sitting on Aarons lap with his knees up. We have our cuddle bug and can be calmed almost all the time with his head being rubbed or placing your hard along the side of his face.
I can't believe how perfect our son is and how blessed we are to have everything work out as it did!!!

March is the Month

Guess its dumb to state the obvious but we are not having a February baby which doesn't totally hurt my feelings. Now we don't have to worry about a purple birthstone for our son (I'm sure that will play some kind of role later in life;) Tomorrow is the big day and I'm not sure just how I'm feeling. I know it'll be soooo nice to sleep in my bed again. I've been on the couch for the past couple weeks and Aaron's been so sweet and sleeping on the air mattress in the front room so I'm not alone (what a great guy!!!) We're very excited and crazy nervous.
Today I'm cleaning up a little of whatever is left to keep busy and finishing packing whatever we aren't going to need tomorrow morning. Aaron has a busy day at worked planned which is a bummer because calling him to chat is not easy. Good thing Mom and Dad are on Verizon (lucky them....)
Aaron's been so amazing through the whole pregnancy and I couldn't ask for a better partner. Not once has he thought about what would make this more comfortable or easier for him. He's made dinners, cleaned them up, taken care of house work after work and on the weekends, sat quite while I cry over nothing then act like nothing happened once I've gotten a hold of myself. How lucky I am to be married to such a man!!!

Just Waiting, do I have to be patient?!?

Whelp, what can ya do when you are not the one who is in charge of the timing. You'd think that our son would know better than to be late but I see that we already have our work cut out for us (wink)
I noticed that I haven't updated anything since announcing the good news and the ultrasound pictures so I thought I'd give a quick update on the pregnancy... Very Lucky!!!! Every doctor’s appointment has been in and out with everything looking great for the two of us. Aaron has been at every appointment which has been wonderful! Sleeping is a pain and I'm up very 2 to 3 hours (I'm told is good practice) and sleep only on my right side. He's dropped to a -1 and is still in my ribs 24/7 (not sure how that one works)
Aaron is getting anxious to meet his son and walks him through the different options and timing to make his grand entrance. It’s really cute watching him wait but I'd be willing to give that up to have Kaden here.
Yesterday we went in for our last appointment and scheduled March 3rd as our induction date in case he decides to hold on that long. Cross your fingers that is not the case.
